The Power to Change.
The Center for Reentry Excellence is a national virtual reentry platform for current and former incarcerated adult males. CRE combines science, compassion, and technology to reduce recidivism.
Why Does CRE Only Work with Males?
Our model is designed exclusively for males for several reasons: 1) males represent the majority of incarcerated adults; 2) they respond to specific approaches to setting and reaching goals; and 3) Coach Smedley’s research and experience have been conducted with thousands of male students resulting in high success rates.
Science
Our country has half a century of data about the causes of incarceration. Poverty, substance abuse, educational limitations, and childhood trauma are just a few of the factors that contribute to being imprisoned. We also know what works to address these problems. The Center for Reentry Excellence designs customized, proven strategies for each customer including individual and small group coaching. Mentoring support is also available.
Compassion
All training begins with compassion. The Center for Reentry Excellence leads with genuine love and concern for each man that we work with. “Love is patient and love is kind” is a fundamental principle of our operation. We show our customers how to love themselves as they begin to understand how to change their lives. We remain compassionate throughout the process of teaching new behaviors and achieving new levels of success. Every team member has a personal interest in reentry.
Technology
Our approach encompasses the use of technology. Many justice involved men do not have the technological skills required for the 21st century. Our program is 100% virtual. Customers are provided with training on the use of equipment, platforms, and apps for academic and employment success. We utilize both self-paced and group instructional settings to assist our customers. Structured tutoring is available to build skills.
